Terms of Service
Last updated: Early Access. These terms are a draft pending legal review.
1. Early-Access nature
AthenaDB is offered on a pre-GA, Early-Access basis. Features may change or be withdrawn, capabilities are evolving, and the software is provided without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Evaluate on synthetic or non-sensitive data until the external security audit that gates real customer data is complete.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
3. Licenses, trials, and editions
AthenaDB is licensed by edition (Community, Personal, Professional, Enterprise) and by license type (trial, subscription, perpetual, enterprise). Trials are 180-day, anti-reset evaluation grants that convert to a paid license without reinstall or data migration. Each edition grants a set of capabilities and activation limits; exceeding them may disable premium features but never your data.
4. Your data is never held hostage (non-destructive enforcement)
Licensing enforcement is deliberately asymmetric. Operations on your own data — open, read, query, backup, restore, and export — always remain available regardless of license state. Only premium capabilities (cluster, Instance Trust Fabric, sync, advanced packs, embedding quota) are disabled when unlicensed or expired. Anti-tamper responses are proportional and maintain a non-destructive read/export posture; the goal is resisting casual reinstall abuse, not defeating determined attackers.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not use AthenaDB to violate applicable law.
- Do not attempt to circumvent licensing, activation, device binding, or security controls.
- Do not ingest real sensitive data before the external audit clearance is in place; the engine enforces this gate in code.
- Do not use the software to build a competing licensing or trust-fabric service.
6. Your data & IP
You retain all rights to your data. AthenaDB always allows export and backup of your own data regardless of license state. The AthenaDB engine, format, and brand remain the property of Divergent Technology Group.
7. Availability & changes
During Early Access, availability targets are described in the SLA and are aspirational. We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
